What Is Applia?

Applia is a trade association based in Brussels that brings together a variety of home appliance manufacturers across Europe. The association empowers all manufacturers to have a single product information standard that will advance lifestyle across the greater Europe.

What Does Applia Do?

Applia has three membership categories, including Direct Members, Ordinary Member, and Cooperation Partner of ECLASS e.V. All these members share a common goal of enhancing sustainable lifestyle across Europe. The organization works with the continent’s regulators to help increase consumer choices in terms of savings and energy efficiency.

Applia Europe also runs to educate consumers on various aspects that can help them achieve higher living standards by improving energy efficiency and cutting costs. This helps increase consumer awareness of product differentiation and energy efficiency, as well as the role of appliance repairs in the green energy transition.

Applia’s Home Appliances Standard

Applia envisioned the PI standard for home appliances about two decades ago. Applia’s PI is an internationally recognized standard for home appliance product information that harmonizes the language all manufacturers should use when describing their products.

Can my company become a Direct Member?

Yes, your company can become a direct member of Applia if you opt to join the organization as a stand-alone home appliance manufacturer instead of an association. Besides having at least one manufacturing facility in Europe, your company must also have direct operations in at least four countries on the continent.

Does Applia comply with EPREl?

Applia Europe complies with the European Product Database for Energy Labelling (EPREL) to optimize consumer experience when it comes to finding energy labels and product detail sheets.
